Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell

barcelona-open-bancosabadelThe Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell is an annual clay-court tennis tournament which is held in Barcelona, Spain. The tournament is also known by other names like Torneo Godó, Trofeo Conde de Godó as well as Open SEAT (from 1995 to 2007). The tournament commenced in 1953 in Barcelona, Spain and is now a part of ATP World Tour 500. The tournament is considered as the most important event for Spanish tennis and one of the most prestigious clay court tournaments over the world.

However, this is Spain’s second most important ATP tournament after Madrid Masters. The event takes place in the last week of April. There are many formal rules to be followed by the audience during the tournament, which is very much appreciated by the players. These include; not to leave or occupy the seat when the game is going on or during the tie-break, not to use flash; mobile phones should be disconnected, not to applaud mistakes in the service etc.
